It was noon and my partner and I had made our way though security in plenty of time for our flight. We both sat down to have a little bit of food before boarding. We start to sip our waters and browse though the menus, then all of a sudden a 800 number calls both of our phones. As we listen to the automated voice tell us that our flight had been canceled, I scream out a few choice words.
I run to the Delta desk only to be diverted to Detroit. Fine, its no Minneapolis but at this point we were just both happy to have a flight out of Louisville. We fly out a bit earlier than expected and safely land in Detroit just in time for our lovely 5 hour layover.
Fast forward to a very hungry and very grumpy poor kid wandering though the Detroit air port. Finally I settle on some Tempura Udon and an ice cold Tiger. Just the malty beverage I needed to complement the sweet tempura and seaweed. My partner and I finish our beers and food, head to the gate to sleep in the most uncomfortable chairs ever.

Fast forward a bit more and we make it to Anchorage, Alaska right around midnight. Exhausted and grumpy it was time to sleep in a comfortable bed and prepare for the next day.
