1. Moose Drool Brown Ale - Big Sky Brewing Company

My dear mother is quite an interesting character.  She runs her own designated driver service in the city of Anchorage.  She hikes, she teaches, and still manages to be a caring mother to myself and my younger brothers.  As we have all grown and the family dichotomy has changed, my mother has taken up a few uncharacteristic but benign hobbies.

It was time for, my friend Rob, his girlfriend Sandy, my Mother, my partner and myself to spend some quality time lounging out in front of the TV and passing around the hookah packed with fruit flavored tobacco.  Never thought my mother was a fan of hookah or tobacco, but times do change.

I enjoy a good hookah lounge every so often, but I love a good beer much, much more.  It was a good time to open up the 6 pack of Moose Drool.  Yes the name Moose Drool, isn’t the most appealing title to have, but a brewery with a good sense of humor tends to have a good outlook on life and subsequently beer.

It is a typical brown ale, with the dark color and good clarity.  The warm malty and coffee aroma went ideally with the hookah lounge vibe and reminded me of younger days wasting away at Cafe 360, attempting to seem cool by doing school work in a hip local.

As I sipped my beer and pondered the universe, like you do.  I realized that flavor was not nearly as strong as the aroma would lead one to believe.  The light feel and mild flavors however, went very well with the smoothness of the Hookah and complemented the quality time spent with friends and family.
